Group Treatment: Cinematography (My Contribution)

For our tasks to be completed accurately I took into consideration various rules, codes and conventions use by professionals, when filming with ay type of video camera. These include "Framing" "Match on action","180 degree line rule" and "Handles" amongst many other things.
Although we will be using many rules too film, we can't make the video entirely smooth, the typical characteristics of our video should be edgy messy and gritty.

For the establishing shot, we wanted the whole band, in a VWS (Very wide shot) along with a long shot, this will then contain the landscape but gives the viewer a more specific idea of setting. A long shot may show the viewers the building where the action will take place, such as our brick wall, with a very minimalist background. We want the members of the band to be wearing clown masks to give an eerie feeling to the whole video, or just the beginning to create a an intense impact for the audience.

In slow motion we'll slowly zoom out, and a low angle is a camera angle that looks up at the subject. This is the opposite of a high angle and makes the subject look more powerful. This can make the audience feel vulnerable and small by looking up at the character. This can help the responder feel empathy if they are viewing the frame from another character's point of view. four will hopefully reach the floor at the same time and there'll be a 'booming' sound effect, as they hit the floor. 3rd shot will be a close up of all four mask faces fitting tightly into the shot.

We will also be using space in four ways

1)INTIMATE
Eighteen inches away. Distance of LOVE, COMFORT, TENDERNESS between individuals

This will be used during the middle of the video, when they are all hanging out. And we can just get natural shots of them. It'll be very much like a documentary or following a band on tour.

2)PERSONAL
-Eighteen inches to about four feet away. Reserved for friends and acquaintances

This will be used during the middle of the video, when they are all hanging out. And we can just get natural shots of them. It'll be very much like a documentary or following a band on tour. Considering they are all round one band members house, we'll get the atmosphere and comfort that one will have in their own home.

3)SOCIAL

-Four feet to about twelve feet away. Business and casual social gatherings

4)PUBLIC
-Twelve to about twenty feet away
